And the winner is...

Samuel Frimpong

Our motto at living word used to be “where everyone is a winner” but in my opinion, everyone may have been a winner but only a few knew about it.

II Corinthians 2:14 NKJV

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

REPEAT – “Now thanks be to God…

We’re called to fight only one fight and that is the fight of faith.

Scripture reference: I Timothy 6:12

Ephesians 6:12 NKJV

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Wrestle Definition:

  1. Take part in a fight, either as sport or in earnest, that involves grappling with one’s opponent and trying to throw or force them to the ground.
  1. Struggle with a difficulty or problem

He didn’t come just so we could escape hell but he came that we would live a victorious Christian life!!!

  1. Focus on your match

THE COMMENTATOR

In wrestling, you have the commentators, who let people who are watching at home know what is going on and give an in-depth insight. You have Jim Rim(right) who is the play-by-play commentator and Jerry The King lawyer(left) who is the colour commentator.

Play-By-Play: They let you know move by move what is going on.

Colour commentator: They are normally former wrestlers who give their views from a wrestlers perspective.

Ephesians 4:29 NIV

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Sometimes you have people looking in on your match and commenting on every step, instead of focusing on their own match which, they stand to announce to the world what you’re going through – though it’s not something you could hear. If you start to think about what they could be saying and stop thinking about winning, before you know it your back will be on the mat and you will be looking up at the lights.

  1. We have an advocate that works on our behalf.

THE ADVOCATE

Advocate – the one that comes along side you to help

John 16:7 (AMP)

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]

Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Sometimes we forget that God is in 3 parts and the Holy Spirit is with us to and comes along side us to help.

The enemy is not concerned that you’re in church today, he’s concerned that you will leave here different, transformed.

Until you understand that the power of the Holy Spirit living in you is the only thing that can make a difference, you will walk around the same, act the same and think the same…  thinking that you’re a defeated opponent of the enemy. And you lack power, but it’s the power of the Holy Spirit that makes a difference.

Do you think you can face 4 opponents by yourself? You’re joking! One pastor used to say “There is game in your eyes!”

The funny thing is that the enemy has made you afraid of your batteries (The Holy Spirit) by saying “Nahh I’m good with all that Holy Ghost stuff, I’ll read my bible and come to church but anything more Nahh”.

If you could beat the things that you are facing, you would have done it already.

  1. We have back up!

BACK UP

2 Kings 6:8-17

Now the king of Syria was making war against Israel; and he consulted with his servants, saying, “My camp will be in such and such a place.” And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, “Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there.” Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice.

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?”

And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.”

And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.”

Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Imagine thinking you’re alone but realising that you have an entire army.

THE REFEREE

The referee is there to count the 1,2,3 and calls the shots – he’s supposed to call it down the middle.

Sometime we have special guest referees who may be wrestlers and may want to work things out for their own good.

Look at a clip of Triple H vs. British Bulldog with The Rock as special guest referee, (The main part finishes around 8 mins)

Unfair right? Yet if I was to say the ref is on our side working in our favour and that ref is Jesus, we’ll have a totally different out look on the match.

  1. The ref is on your side ????

Now We can say with our chest…

I Corinthians 15:55-57 NKJV

““O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

THE F WORD

Some will use the ‘f’ word (Fake) when referring to wrestling but feel so passionate when their favourite character has been killed lol. Those who are fans use the word scripted – just like any TV show.

I asked God why he used “wrestling”, and He said… wrestling is scripted which means, there someone at the back who knows the beginning from the end. Who knows who will come out on top and win. All we have to do is play our part and always come out on top.

Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Despite all those things working in your favour, why are you still afraid, let’s not be this guy…

But this guy…

When you’re free watch a show…
